Similarity Search
Most Similar Searches are used to compare a chosen region on a specific unit to that same region across all available images of your product to bring up regions that look most alike.
To perform a Similarity Search click Select a region on the left hand menu. Then draw a box around the region you’re looking to compare across units. Your box should be drawn as precisely as possible to allow the Similarity Search to yield the most accurate results. After selecting your region click Most Similar to initiate the search.
This will pull up a list containing thumbnail images of your chosen region on every unit in the Instrumental database with the most similar units at the top. As you scroll down the regions will become less and less similar.
The primary difference between Anomaly Searches and Similarity Searches is that Anomaly Searches will look in the chosen region for the units with the highest severity of anomalies whereas Similarity Searches will look for units that are most similar in the chosen region to the unit that you’re performing the search on. This tool is helpful for searching across multiple units for a specific failure mode.
